A Dreamers Will

A Dreamers Will

Written by Michael Colon

A dream never sought after becomes an everyday nightmare for those who genuinely believe anything is possible. The dreamer has a limitless imagination and lives for the future. Those who embrace this lifestyle understand that the window between reality and our thoughts can be manipulated. Sure, not all of us are called to be capable of mastering everything, but the dreamer’s lifestyle is about digging deep into our soul, with our head in the clouds and a reflective, creative vision for a better life.

The dreamer’s lifestyle may be misunderstood by many because it takes away the control that others want to saturate us with for their own selfish agendas. Instead of trying to cage the dreamer behind the bars of self-hate and ignorance, others should use that energy to answer the question of how they bettered themselves today. A small step in the right direction is better than standing still and not making a choice. Success is a matter of an individual maximizing their abilities to achieve a set goal. Success is being happy, knowing that a life lived full of passions, learning, and dreams is enough.

To be a dreamer, it does not matter our ethnicity, the tax bracket we fall under, or our family name; we all have the chance to have freedom in our hearts. Society will try to keep us boxed in the corner, pummeling us with the blows of stereotypes. The dreamer can be down in the bottomless darkest pit of strife and despair, yet, the slightest glimmer of light is enough to act as a silver lining to climb to a brighter situation.

Foresight

For an idea to manifest itself into reality, we must see it as something that has already happened before we make the first step. Foresight is the ability to paint a future and exist in that future as if it were the present. Although we can’t predict what will happen in the future, anticipating the likely outcomes with a positive mindset will allow us to get a grip on what may come flying our way at speeds that can be difficult to calculate. Using foresight is believing in a goal with not just our eyes but through the lens of our hearts.

The eyes of our hearts beat to every piece of motivation and reasoning that draws us closer to making a dream real. Writing out life-changing decisions between the lines concentrates our thoughts on a more well-rounded and productive act of laying the foundation for future actions. In the same way, a painter uses a canvas; we should take the pen on a journey from within ourselves to the frontier of the blank loose-leaf paper. The words left over are not just made of ink or pencil lead, but our most profound emotions are captured as the balance of what should and needs to get done.

Research

A dreamer understands that legitimate and credible information is essential to birthing an idea into our physical experience here. Whether through media, literature, or spoken word, all of these sources construct a ladder that allows us to climb to where we need to see the landscape that reveals more to learn since there is always more to learn. The archives of information, when sorted out properly, lead to the halls of truth in our minds, where we can go anytime the situation calls for it. We don’t have to possess superior intelligence to find the answers to happiness. We have to be open-minded and persistent.

Knowledge is power, and that power enables us the wisdom to unlock mysteries. Research doesn’t have to be just analyzing materials from institutions but putting ourselves under the microscope. It takes courage, not just smarts, to analyze ourselves with a fine tooth comb. Of course, having a higher education will ultimately get one foot in the door quicker in a respected field than somebody without one, but not having a college degree to frame on the wall doesn’t mean we can’t pin ourselves to a higher standard.

Work Ethic

Hard work is the best medicine to cure laziness and instill discipline with the skills to bend the stiffness of complacency and regret. Our fiery passion for a goal can forge the necessary tools to get work done. A dreamer is well aware that sitting on a grassy hill, watching the clouds pass by while we stringing our thoughts in them, isn’t enough. We have to get up and get our hands dirty in the trenches where battles are fought, and the reward is lessons learned. If we aren’t working hard, we are playing pretend, living a life full of lies.

Nothing comes easy in this life. The lushest garden comes from hours of groundwork and planting seeds. The most precious gems need to be extracted from the deepest parts of the earth, where miners are mindful of how dangerous the job is. The greatest athletes have to call the gym their home, pouring blood, sweat, and tears into their craft. The most successful businesses came from a simple concept and worked on from early mornings to late nights, sacrificing the wants of self for the needs of an idea. Not everyone is born with a talent that may supersede the majority of the population, but we all have the strength to do our best.

An Endless Will

A dreamer’s will is liberation and dedication captured and released as a form of expression in ways nobody can understand unless they adopt this way of living. This lifestyle allows us to shake hands with fate and write our stories with intensity, love, and imagination. Striving for success builds self-acceptance and breaks the chains of preconceived notions

It’s ok to have dreams even if others are telling you to wake up. Even if the dream doesn’t become reality, what is picked up along the way connects us to who we are always meant to become, which is a more well-rounded human being. It’s not about trying to catch lightning in the bottle but falling in love with a muse.
